In 2006, I knew it was time to once again have a chow in my life. Properly trained and understood, the chow chow is a wonderful family dog. They had been a big part of the lives of my children, when they were growing up. Now we are raising two of our grandchildren, both small, and I wanted the same experience for them.

I was very fortunate in finding a wonderful private rescue (Katann Chow Rescue - please see our links page) who helped me adopt Mr. Spock. Yes, that is his picture above. He is a wonderful chow, still a puppy, and has brought nothing but joy to our family. Many older dogs are also available if you wish to avoid those puppy years!

This page will, I hope, cause more people to stop and think. If they want a companion animal, why support pet shops, and in the long run puppy farms/mills? There are so many wonderful dogs of all breeds out there...just like Mr. Spock!
